It is important to have a good and trustworthy relationship with your dealer. It is important that they have a good understanding of your requirements during the build process and in any after sales service requirements.

Do your research

This can’t be emphasized enough. It is important to gain a good understanding of not only what size caravan you would feel comfortable holidaying in, but what size you feel comfortable towing and reversing, what weight your vehicle can tow and what you actually want to use the caravan for.

After sales service

Problems can occur. Anyone who says they can’t or won’t is not being honest! So be sure to check with either the dealer or the manufacturer that they have a warranty in place and provide after sales service.

Quality

Caravans, by nature, can look similar at first glance. However it is important to make sure that your caravan is fitted with quality, tried and tested components, especially those crucial to its function. Check the quality of the finish and craftsmanship. Be sure the chassis is strong and of a reputable manufacturer, as are brakes and suspension and most importantly, that they all comply with Australian standards.
